I would like to share with you last night’s image of the Horsehead Nebula (starless version) under a 85% crescent Moon.
I captured 2h 45′ of super narrowband data with my Antlia 3nm Ha filter and the FSQ106 EDX4. I’m quite surprised how much detail has shown up in this short exposure. I have a Seeing Station in my observatory that registered a stable mean value of 1 arcesc during the session. These conditions made it possible to gather some fine detail in a very bright night under the Prades night sky. I did not reduce the noise to show the delicate filaments of the Ha emissions around the Horsehead Nebula, IC 434.
Thanks for taking your time on this site.
