This wide field image shows the Orion’s Belt and several nebulae behind the viewpoint of El Pla de la Guàrdia, a perfect place to stargaze located in Prades (Tarragona).
The image is the result of combining several individual images to enhance the details of the Orion constellation. All the images have been captured at the same place and time with a Sony A7s astro modified and a Samyang 135mm lens.
Several nebulae can be seen in this sky scape: The Great Orion Nebula (Messier 42), the Running Man Nebula Sh2-279, the Horsehead Nebula (IC 434), the Flame Nebula Sh2-277, and the reflection nebula Messier 78. All the field is surrounded by the Barnard’s Loop, Sh2-276.
